beginners to advanced
Group CPL Course
Our courses are designed for beginner and intermediate handlers. Many people have fired a gun previously, but this is not required. Group courses may have up to 10 registered people.
Private CPL Course
Some people prefer to shoot without the distraction of other people or want more time with an instructor. A private CPL course is offered on request. A registered couple or family is allowed.
CPL Refresher Course
This is for people who already have a CPL and need to refresh for state requirements and/or their own practice. Michigan CPLs are good for 5 years. You MUST have 3 hours of refresher course material and a minimum of 1 hour range time prior to renewal.

How long are the CPL classes?
All CPL Courses are 8 hours.
We work through lunch, which you need to bring.
Refresher Courses are 3 hours.
Do I get a certification at the end of the course?
Yes, all courses come with a certification upon completion. You will need to apply for a CPL with your county following the course.
Do I need to pack a lunch?
Yes. I do not provide lunch. I may provide light refreshments, but please pack accordingly.
I have my own gun, can I bring it?
Yes! This is encouraged! You will begin on a .22 that is provided then transition to your gun. We will only be shooting HANDGUNS – no rockets, torpedos, cannons, catapults, missiles, or grenade launchers.
I don't have a gun. How do I participate?
You will be provided a .22 handgun to practice with (then you will move to your own gun if you have one). There may be a small fee for ammunion used.
Is there an age limit?
Yes, legally you must be 21 years or older to participate in a CPL class. While you are eligible to purchase a firearm at 18 years of age in Michigan, you must be 21 or older to take a CPL class and to apply for a concealed pistol license.
Can I bring my dog, kids, kangaroo, or grandpa?
No. Only the registered person may join the class. No children, pets (SERVICE ANIMALS ONLY – no emotional support iguanas), or additional people are allowed.
What is the dress code?
- Closed toed shoes WITH SOCKS (tennis shoes, boots, or fully-enclosed slip ons)
- Long pants or jeans
- Shirts with a sleeve (no tank tops, spaghetti straps, dresses)
- No low-cut shirts, belly shirts, or bikini tops
- Be comfortable. You will be shooting a gun.
- YOU WILL BE OUTSIDE! Please dress accordingly for the weather.
